2015 VACSAL JUNIOR FOOTBALL NETBALL CARNIVAL NEWS

The 2015 VACSAL State-wide Junior Football Netball Carnival was held in Ballarat September 24th & 25th, 2015.

36 Netball and 16 Football teams competed over 2 days at the Ballarat Netball Centre and the Sebastopol Football Club at Marty Bush Reserve.
The Victorian Aboriginal Community Services Association (VACSAL) coordinates the annual event, working closely with with Netball Victoria and AFL Victoria. The Victorian Department of Health and Human Services, Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing Unit were keen to support the event believing that Health and wellbeing through sport, community connectedness and culture are integral to our people thriving.

Results for the Carnival:

Under 12 Netball

Winners – Seven Sisters

Best Overall Player – Kalarni Atkinson (Barak)

Under 12 Football

Under 15 Netball

Runner Up – Lagunta Sisters

MVP Grand Final – Taryn Kelly (South West Swans)

Best Player Overall – Lena Wright (South West Swans)

Under 15 Football

Runner Up – Fitzroy Stars

Winners – Bunurong

MVP Grand Final – Jackson Collard (Bunurong)

Best Player Overall – Cori Corigan (Gulgurn Manja Gariwerd)

Under 17 Netball

Runner Up – Bunurong

Winners – Warma

MVP Grand Final – Vanessa Handy (Warma)

Best Player Overall – Suberia Sailor (Lagunta Sisters)
