Hoops Against Violence 2015

The 2015 Hoops Against Violence program will be run in Ballarat on Tuesday 30th June and Wednesday 1st July, 2015 , at the Wendouree Sports and Entertainment Complex, Norman Street Wendouree.
The Hoops Against Violence Program uses basketball as a way to engage with Koorie young people and promote safe communities and anti violence messages.
This program is a joint initiative of the Grampians Indigenous Family Violence Regional Action Group (GIFVRAG) and the Grampians Regional Aboriginal Justice Advisory Committee (RAJAC) and is supported by the Aboriginal Community Justice Panel (ACJP), Victorian Aboriginal Community Services Association Ltd (VACSAL), Victoria Police, Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service (VALS) and the Ballarat Basketball Association.
The program consists of:
- A Basketball Skills and Drills Clinic
- Hip Hop & Neat Box Workshop
- Challenge Match between Ballarat and Horsham with teams consisting of Koorie community members and Local Police members
- A 3on3 Basketball Tournament.
